Solution-Focused Coaching

Solution Focused Coaching (SFC) is a personal and professional development opportunity for individuals, teams and whole schools. Through a process of confidential psychological coaching, SFC provides a dialogue of empowerment that can impact on the effectiveness of schools, and, is able to support professionals psychologically in times of change and challenge.

Coaching supports individuals to successfully negotiate the challenge of change.

Based on the concepts of coaching and solution-focused brief therapy, SFC is an explicitly facilitative psychological model with a solid evidence base- it providing a process of support and challenge to bring about beneficial change. The aim of SFC is to impact significantly on individual's and organisation's ability to thrive under pressure.

I have over 3000 hours of coaching and consultation experience under my belt and for a number of years led the development and delivery of a psychological coaching service for Nottinghamshire local authority. I have provided psychological coaching training to psychologists, schools, Advanced Skills Teachers, School Improvement professionals and Heads Teachers. My doctoral research focused on what teachers say counts in coaching, and my aim is to provide teachers in demanding situations with the highest possible quality psychological support.
